Kalesar National Park is a beautiful place, located in the Yamuna Nagar district of the state of Haryana. Total area of the National park is about 46.82 Km2. In the year of 2003, the Kalesar Wildlife Sanctuary was declared as a National park. Kalesar National Park offers a host of activities such as Fishing, Trekking, Sight Seeing, Swimming, Bird Watching and Safari.
Kalesar National Park has got lot of significance in terms of bio-diversity it is store house of numerous medicinal plants and house of many threatened animals like Leopard, Ghoral, Barking deer, Sambar, Chital, Python, King Cobra, Monitor lizard etc.
National park is an area which is strictly reserved for the betterment of the wildlife & biodiversity, and where activities like developmental, forestry, poaching, hunting and grazing on cultivation are not permitted. Their boundaries are well marked and circumscribed.

It was declared a Wildlife Sanctuary in the year of 1996. In the year of 2003, the Kalesar Wildlife Sanctuary was declared as a National park. Total area of the National park is about 46.82 Km2.

Inside the boundaries of the National Park, a famous temple dedicated to Lord Shiva called as Kaleshar temple is situated. The Park owes its name to the temple itself.
The entire region is filled with bio-diversity having thick Sal woodland, Khair woodland and coverings of sward lands, which supports rich diversity of flora and fauna.

Geography
The park is located in the Yamuna nagar district of the state of Haryana. It is about 150 Km away from Chandigarh. The park is situated in the foothills of Shiwalik ranges of Himalayas.
The park shares boundary with three states viz., Himachal Pradesh, Uttaranchal and Uttar Pradesh. The Yamuna river form the Eastern boundary with Uttar Pradesh, the main Shivalik ridge separates state boundary among Haryana, Himachal Pradesh and Uttaranchal in the north.
On the east, The Yamuna River forms its boundary with Uttar Pradesh while the Shiwalik mountain ranges separate the Park from Himachal Pradesh and Uttaranchal in the north.
